Who Dooked Up the House?

Poster for Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook

In this episode, Ali and Jason discover their capacity to tolerate the glass-shattering screams of a gaslit child. They also do their best to enter the emotional world of a single mother trying her hardest not to succumb to the demons that threaten to tear apart an already fractured and fragile family unit. We find that neither in a word, nor in a book, are we able to escape The Babadook (2014).
